Si tienes planes de emigrar de la Habana al Madrid de 1995, o si ya lo hiciste; en realidad, si has emigrado a cualquier lugar y en cualquier época, o si simplemente quieres leer un buen libro, te recomiendo este. Es lo que un libro de memorias debe ser, no sólo una serie de anécdotas contadas de forma divertida o desgarradora, también tiene la reflexión que el tiempo y la distancia permite. Todo en el estilo de uno de mis escritores favoritos.

El Madrid del Risco.

Un hombre nacido y criado en la Habana, bajo la dictadura de Fidel Castro, salta al Madrid de 1995. Choca con la realidad de una sociedad capitalista y la dificultad de un estatus de inmigrante ilegal. Huérfano de cultura laboral, víctima de costumbres inculcadas bajo un régimen totalitario, tiene prácticamente que aprender a vivir. Las peripecias que enfrentan son narradas de una forma jocosa pero en ocasiones desgarradoras. No es necesario ser cubano, no es necesario haber vivido en Madrid para disfrutarlo. Siempre nos quedara Madrid, es junto a El hombre que amaba a los perros, de Padura, los dos mejores libros de autores cubanos que he leído en los últimos años. Lo recomiendo.
